I want to talk about the creator a bit before I talk about this amazing comic. Mr. Balent is perhaps best known for his run on DC's Catwoman back in the 90's and is admired for his style in the art of sexy, curvy ladies. It's also worth mentioning that his Catwoman costume of the purple bodysuit with black thigh high boots and long black hair coming out from the back of the hood is my all time favorite design! Oh man, the way she used to store her whip down the inside of her boot? SO HOT!!! LOL!
I once saw this art piece referred to as "The Mona Lisa of Comics"! After that run he started his own company, BroadSword Comics, home of the fabulous heroine, "Tarot", a sensational red-headed diva and her amazing (and for ADULTS ONLY!) magickal adventures!
Other characters include her villainous sister, the scorned Raven, who happens to be one of my favorite characters from the series. Skeleton Man, (Don't let the name fool you! He is all BARA!! LOL!) is a love interest of Tarot, new to the world of magick and the supernatural, and sometimes on the receiving end of a bare-bottom spanking at the hands of one pissed off nun! LOL!
Aside from all hot bods and gorgeous art, the plots are very strong and engaging! Meaningful story-lines that at times can even invoke your emotions. I especially enjoy all of the spirituality and symbolism throughout the series. There really isn't any wonder in my opinion as to why BroadSword Comics always wins Best Indy awards and accolades! I highly recommend the series and hope you will enjoy it as much as I have over the years!
